February is Heart Awareness Month and it’s also the month where Valentines Day  happens too. I thought I would mix the two for this post.

Is chocolate good for the heart?

It depends on the type of chocolate you eat.  Dark and raw chocolate have antioxidant properties in it. Making it beneficial for the body and the heart. Chocolate just makes people happy too.
Like everything you need to eat it in moderation.

Here is my favorite recipe for chocolate fudge

1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup of cacao powder
1/2 cup of prickly pear cactus honey

blend well and even out on some parchment paper and stick in the fridge for a few minutes until it is solidified.  Then enjoy.
You can add this to your ice cream or other favorite foods like  bananas or strawberries.

30 day water challenge

Drop Falling into Water
This is our first official kick off for Medicine by Women (and men) for Women.

Water is the essence of life. Unfortunately, there are times we are too busy to remember to drink enough of it. Then dehydration sets in. Some signs of dehydration can be chapped lips, back pain, craving food, dry mouth, headache, nose bleeds, weight gain, dry skin, etc.

For this month I am taking the 30 day challenge of trying to drink a gallon of water a day to see what the outcome will be. Stay tuned for updates!
