Marijuana and Adrenal Fatigue

Posted on

Marijuana has been researched for years. It has great medical benefits for those who have pain, anxiety, depression, glaucoma, AIDS/HIV, migraines, severe gut issues, insomnia, ptsd, cancer, and etc. However, according to the latest research high thc marijuana isn’t so good for those with chronic fatigue syndrome, adrenal insufficiency, or adrenal fatigue. The problem is what the THC does to the adrenals. The THC causes cortisol levels to rise. This in turn puts more stress on the adrenals which then makes the adrenals weaker.
Researchers have found the high CBD low THC products don’t stress the adrenals. Anyone who has fatigue problems should stay with the high CBD products and steer clear of the high THC products.

Tired all the time?

BIG Changes Coming November 1

Posted on

Our practice is growing, so we’re making two very big changes to our clinic.

1. We’re moving November 1!

We found a beautiful new office in the same complex we’re in now, and we’ll begin seeing patients there starting Novermber 1. The new address will be:

34406 N 27th Dr #114
Phoenix, AZ 85085

The office is in Building 2, which is closer to the 27th Dr entrance. We’ll be next door to Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic, and across the parking lot from the Diamond Dance Works studio.

2. We’re changing our name from the Bienetre Center to Burns Integrative Wellness Center.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll be updating our website, email accounts, forms and business cards to show that we are now Burns Integrative Wellness Center. Have no fear, though, because we’ll make sure you can still find us. Our phone number will stay the same, and we’ll set up our old site to redirect to the new one automatically.

Stay tuned for more details and updates about the move.

Does THC effect your gut issues?

Posted on

Recently, it was brought to my attention that there are some news articles circulating on the internet stating that marijuana will make your gut issues worse or even cause gut issues. After making some extensive phone calls to the researchers there is a consensus that a high THC plant may slow gut motility causing more gut issues, but if a person uses a high CBD low THC plant then that usually isn’t the case. High CBD plants or products are used more to help bring down inflammation in the gut. Adding in probiotics, golden seal, and or l- glutamine can help provide healing for the gut.

Researchers also say to stay away from concentrates if you have any gut issues. They said that they really don’t know what is in the concentrates if they haven’t been tested so it is better to just stick with other products. cbd

Legalize Marijuana or No

Posted on

In November there maybe a proposition on the ballot on whether marijuana should become recreational or not.

Both sides are pushing hard for or against having this happen.

Most of the people I see are saying how things are in Colorado. I usually have to remind people that Colorado still has their medical program. Colorado noticed an increase in people wanting to get their MMJ cards due to the fact that medical marijuana was cheaper than the recreational. Also, in Colorado they have different plants for recreational than they do for medical.

I was trying to read if there was going to be a difference here between recreational marijuana plants and medical. I haven’t seen anything written about that yet. The Arizona Supreme Court, in anticipation of recreational, has decided that if a police officer smells marijuana in your car it gives them the right to search your car. Then there is a law already in effect saying that no one can cultivate if they are within 25 miles of a dispensary, yet on the legalized ballot people can grow up to 6 plants in their house. There still seems to be a lot of conflict as to what legalization really entails.

I’m not sure what the answer should be on recreational vs. medical marijuana.

I just hope we get more information about the recreational bill before we go to the polls this November. It’s better to be informed so that way we can make the best choice for Arizona.

Powder Greens Does What?

Posted on

Powder greens are basically your vegetable in powder form. A lot of us are so busy that we don’t have time to properly measure out 5 servings for fruits and veggies. Having powder greens helps to fill the void that we don’t have time to eat on our own.

I love powder greens because so much stuff can be added in like herbs that aid digestion, probiotics, vitamins, and antioxidants.

What are the benefits of having powder greens? For women it really helps with pms, sleep, energy, helps your body to utilize your estrogens better, it helps to decrease heavy menstrual flow, menses cramps, and decrease acne during pms.

With the antioxidants it helps to decrease free radical damage. It helps your liver to detoxify and it help with digestion to heal leaky gut or at least have predigested foods.

Get yourself some greens today.

What Good Are You?

Posted on

I was asked this question several weeks ago. The person was yelling at the top of their lungs “What good are you…” followed by some very negative comments. This made me think of how many times do we internally say “what good am I…” We start our own negative talk because we feel that we failed at something. We feel that everything is now hopeless because we failed at one task or we didn’t do as well as our neighbor or friend.
We keep digging a pit for self because we feel that is what we are supposed. That you are supposed to

Don't suffer through life. Find answers.

Don’t suffer through life. Find answers.

dig a never ending hole and suffer through life. What happens if you don’t have to suffer through life? What happens if you made the dream you had a reality of actually enjoying life?

Most people cover their anxiety and depression with medications to help them cope without really getting any coping skills. Then people become afraid to get off of the medications when something goes “wrong” in their world.

Besides being on medications you need to see a life coach or therapist to help you learn the coping skills that are needed to help you to stop digging the eternal pit.

Also, there maybe something medical underlying like Hashimoto’s, hypothyroid, adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalance or iodine deficiency that may be playing a part in your life.

Call us today to see if there maybe something more to your depression then just very negative people.

Iodine are you deficient.

Posted on

Last week I was on a radio show talking about the health benefits of iodine. Unfortunately, iodine is not as available in our foods like it once was. Iodine has been replaced with bromine in some of our foods like soda, breads, and etc. Also, people want to be on sea salt which has no iodine in it.

What is iodine deficiency? Some of the symptoms of iodine deficiency are weight gain, hair loss, anxiety, depression, intolerance to cold, estrogen dominance, fibromyalgia, fiborcystic breast disease, and fatigue.

What are the benefits of iodine is helps to stay off some cancers, it can help prevent illness because it helps to work on the immune system, it helps to work with your thyroid gland. It can help reduce pain and it helps to regulate estrogen.

How can you tell if you have iodine deficiency? You can get blood test from your doctors office. You can try a iodine challenge at home where you put some iodine on your skin and let it sit for 12 hours. If it is absorbed in 12 hours you may be iodine deficient.

If you start on iodine drops start low and work your way up. Everyone is different when it comes to how much iodine they may really need.
