2. We’re changing our name from the Bienetre Center to Burns Integrative Wellness Center.
Over the next several weeks, we’ll be updating our website, email accounts, forms and business cards to show that we are now Burns Integrative Wellness Center. Have no fear, though, because we’ll make sure you can still find us. Our phone number will stay the same, and we’ll set up our old site to redirect to the new one automatically.

Recently, it was brought to my attention that there are some news articles circulating on the internet stating that marijuana will make your gut issues worse or even cause gut issues. After making some extensive phone calls to the researchers there is a consensus that a high THC plant may slow gut motility causing more gut issues, but if a person uses a high CBD low THC plant then that usually isn’t the case. High CBD plants or products are used more to help bring down inflammation in the gut. Adding in probiotics, golden seal, and or l- glutamine can help provide healing for the gut.
Researchers also say to stay away from concentrates if you have any gut issues. They said that they really don’t know what is in the concentrates if they haven’t been tested so it is better to just stick with other products.
In November there maybe a proposition on the ballot on whether marijuana should become recreational or not.
Both sides are pushing hard for or against having this happen.
Most of the people I see are saying how things are in Colorado. I usually have to remind people that Colorado still has their medical program. Colorado noticed an increase in people wanting to get their MMJ cards due to the fact that medical marijuana was cheaper than the recreational. Also, in Colorado they have different plants for recreational than they do for medical.
I was trying to read if there was going to be a difference here between recreational marijuana plants and medical. I haven’t seen anything written about that yet. The Arizona Supreme Court, in anticipation of recreational, has decided that if a police officer smells marijuana in your car it gives them the right to search your car. Then there is a law already in effect saying that no one can cultivate if they are within 25 miles of a dispensary, yet on the legalized ballot people can grow up to 6 plants in their house. There still seems to be a lot of conflict as to what legalization really entails.
I’m not sure what the answer should be on recreational vs. medical marijuana.
I just hope we get more information about the recreational bill before we go to the polls this November. It’s better to be informed so that way we can make the best choice for Arizona.

I was asked this question several weeks ago. The person was yelling at the top of their lungs “What good are you…” followed by some very negative comments. This made me think of how many times do we internally say “what good am I…” We start our own negative talk because we feel that we failed at something. We feel that everything is now hopeless because we failed at one task or we didn’t do as well as our neighbor or friend.

Besides being on medications you need to see a life coach or therapist to help you learn the coping skills that are needed to help you to stop digging the eternal pit.

Last week I was on a radio show talking about the health benefits of iodine. Unfortunately, iodine is not as available in our foods like it once was. Iodine has been replaced with bromine in some of our foods like soda, breads, and etc. Also, people want to be on sea salt which has no iodine in it.
What is iodine deficiency? Some of the symptoms of iodine deficiency are weight gain, hair loss, anxiety, depression, intolerance to cold, estrogen dominance, fibromyalgia, fiborcystic breast disease, and fatigue.
What are the benefits of iodine is helps to stay off some cancers, it can help prevent illness because it helps to work on the immune system, it helps to work with your thyroid gland. It can help reduce pain and it helps to regulate estrogen.

Two weeks ago I got stung by a scorpion. As the neurotoxin was starting it’s way through my body I felt some interesting side effects from this neurotoxin like headaches, joint pain, and the burning sensation that goes along with it. By the next day I was fine, but it taught me a good lesson.
In life there are random things that happen to us that are bad. It is nothing that we chose. It was just something that happened. I have two choices. I can either whine and complain all day about how I feel or I can change how I see the situation. I decided to make it a learning experience. I got to see first hand that there can be chaos all around me and I can either add to the chaos or decide not to participate in it.
I think sometimes we are scared of our own empowerment and decide to not have it. Because we might have been taught that empowering self is bad. It will show that we are aggressive not assertive. There is a difference with it.
We need to embrace that we have power to control self. We have power to make our own choices. We have power to feel happy. We don’t have to suffer. It’s ok to see a therapist for help. It’s ok to change yourself for the better. It’s ok not to be stuck in a defeating loop.
